PNP- Provincial Nominee Program
Provincial Nominee Program is for workers who
- Have the skills, education and right work experience to contribute to the economy of a particular province or territory
- Wish to live in that particular province or territory, and;
- Want to become permanent residents of Canada.
All Canadian provinces and territories (except Nunavut and Quebec) have their own special Provincial Nominee Program. The Provincial Nomination issued under two different streams; paper-based, and Express Entry aligned. In the paper-based process, an eligible applicant must apply to the province or territory under a non-Express Entry stream. Once the candidate has been nominated, they have to submit a paper-based application for permanent residence to IRCC.
On the other hand, in the express entry aligned process, there are two ways to apply,
- Eligible candidates can contact the province or territory directly. If the province or territory nominates the candidates, they can create an Express Entry profile and show that they have been nominated
- Or) potential candidates should create Express Entry first. If the province or territory sends them a notification of interest to their Express Entry profile and accepts it electronically.
